Ireland U20 Fixtures Announced for JWC 2011

The fixtures for the IRB Under 20 Junior World Cup in Italy have been released with Ireland playing their opening pool fixtures, against England and South Africa, at Stadio Communale di Monigo, Treviso. Ireland’s third and final match takes place in Stadio Mario Battaglini, Rovigo.

The third venue for the tournament is Stadio del Plebiscito, Padova with the three venues forming a semi-circle round Venice on the Italian north east coast, in prime Italian wine making country!

With seven Ulster players, Niall Annett, Conor Carey, Craig Gilroy, Iain Henderson, Patrick Jackson, Luke Marshall and Blane McIlroy, featuring in the recent U20′s Six Nations tournament it is likely that there will be a strong Ulster representation in the Ireland squad and for what promises to be a excellent competition in terms of the standard of play and the great weather!

Ireland are currently ranked 9th in the world standing and though they find themselves in a tough group, with South Africa and England being favourites to qualify one and two, they do have a good chance to get into the paly offs for 5th – 8th place.
