Cooke's Imogen Porter (centre), one if this week's scorers.

There were only two Ulster teams involved in AIL games this weekend with Cooke travelling to Blackrock and Belfast Harlequins heading to Longford.

Cooke came away with the win 27 – 25 after coming back from 22 – 10 down with 20 mins to go. Tries to Stacey-lea Kennedy (2), Imogen Porter, Caroline Kelly.

Belfast Harlequins were unlucky to come away from Longford defeated 26 – 20 with a suspect try awarded to the home side late in the game giving them the advantage. Harlequins were missing quite a few of their regular playing including out-half Zenay Jordaan but played well in spite of this. Tries to Ashleigh Baxter, Nikki Caughey and Lesleyann Stirling.

Letterkenny and Ballyshannon were in action in the Ulster Development League. Letterkenny came away eventual winners in a very close encounter – the game ending 17 – 15.

Don’t forget the Ulster Women’s Rugby Awards Dinner is to be held on 28 May 2011 at Belfast Harlequins. Come along and celebrate the achievements in all levels of women’s rugby around the province from the youth all the way through to the Ulster representatives. Tickets are £25 and available from Natalie Bryant.
