So Ulster crash out of the Heineken Cup at the Quarter Final stage and we didn’t get those seven wins in a row after all.
Northampton now face Perpignan at stadium:MK but the eventual winners will more than likely be decided when Leinster take on Toulouse at the Aviva with our Mexican friends surely hot favourites to pick up their second European trophy.
| QF | Perpignan | 29 – 25 | Toulon | Barcelona Olympic Stadium | 55,000 | |
| QF | Leinster | 17 – 10 | Leicester Tigers | Aviva Stadium | 49,762 | |
| QF | Northampton | 23 – 13 | Ulster Rugby | stadium:mk | 21,309 | |
| QF | Biarritz | 20 – 27 | Toulouse | AET | Estadio Anoeta | 32,051 |
Leinster’s success in the Heineken Cup may work in Ulster’s favour in the league as our southern friends will more than likely play a weakened side this weekend. What remains to be seen, however, is how Ulster recover from the disappointment of the defeat – and let’s not forget we’ve been turned over by weakened sides a few times this season!
However our Western cousins could take the pressure off if they do us a favour by turning over Cardiff Blues on Friday night, a result that would pretty much consolidate our position in the top four.

With Biarritz and Toulouse drawing 17 all after 80 minutes there is only one full house this week with Rocky getting all the results correct. His five points for the draw and bonus point for the full house sees Rocky rocket (I’m surer there was a band called that in my distant youth!) into joint second as the chasing pack jostles for position behind Junty.

Don’t forget to get your predictions in by 6:00pm on Friday this week.
Opps – forgot to mention the decider for last months Manager of the Month competition.
Glynncommando, 1-AndyG and Caveman were tied in first place so they were invited to predict the total number of points scored this weekend as a tie-breaker. As with the league campaign it was all very close with Glynncommando predicting 39 points, 1-AndyG predicting 37 and caveman predicting 43.
With 36 points scored during the game the Manger of the Month prize for March therefore goes to 1-AndyG who has the choice of a pair of tickets or a gift voucher.
As I did meet up with Mr Commando and Mr caveman over in Milton Keynes at the weekend I’ll keep them one of the new FRU t-shirts, that we hope to lunch over the summer break, by way of comisseration!
