With only three matches played this weekend, the table has seen no changes and so an updated set of rankings will be posted after next weekend’s competitive fixtures.
However, each of games is worth mentioning in some respect:
In the only remaining Bowl quarterfinal, Foyle & L’Derry College will be very pleased to have recorded a win over Limavady GS as it finally ends their six-game losing streak. They now move on to face Friends’ SL in the semifinal and will be hoping that their early season form (which included a win over RBAI), rather than their later form, will be on show to get them to the final.
In the first of two friendly games, Grosvenor GS travelled to Larne GS knowing that they were more than capable of a win considering their Cup exploits and narrow exit against Coleraine AI. Indeed, they came home with 26 points and a clean sheet to keep their good form rolling. They will be rank outsiders in the Plate against the likes of Ballymena Academy and Wallace HS, but teams should underestimate them at their own peril.
RS Armagh have moved up the rankings in recent weeks and they showed their form again on Saturday, this time against Wallace HS, a team who missed out on beating Methody by a single point. In fact, these two opponents are the only ones to inflict defeat on Armagh this season and so victory must have been especially sweet against Wallace, inverting the result of the reverse fixture from November.
