These rumours have been doing the rounds for a few days on messageboards and Twitter, but hot from the espresso bars of Parma, I think we can now confirm that Fionn Carr will be joining Ulster Rugby with the announcement expected next week, at the same time they may let us know that Andi Kyriacou has signed for another two seasons with Ulster.
Ulster will also confirm the transfer of Ryan Caldwell to Bath for next season.
Haven’t heard anyone else mention this one yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ulster outline the future plans of coach Brian McLaughlin as well, though they may hold off on this one until his replacement is signed and sealed
.
The Caldwell move is probably best for him and for Ulster and I hope he finds a bit of form with the English side but it is a pity that the powers that be have finally admitted defeat with the maverick talent. Let’s hope the move works out and he finally reaches his potential.
Carr is a bit of a steal for Ulster, plucked from under the nose of Leinster by all accounts, and while his defence may still need a bit of work there is no substitute for pace which the youngster has in abundance.
