Ulster have announced the squad for Sunday’s match against the Blues.
After a two week break, the Ulster team are back in Magners League action this weekend when they face the Cardiff Blues at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday 21st November, ko 3.45pm.
Ulster Coach Brian McLaughlin has named a 27 man squad ahead of the game and will announce his starting XV and replacements on Friday.
The Ulster Ravens are also in action this weekend with an away match against Leinster A at Donnybrook on Saturday (20th November) which kicks off at 1pm. The Ravens team will also be named on Friday. If you are travelling to Dublin to see Ireland taken on the All Blacks, why not leave a little earlier to catch the Ravens in action?
Forwards: Jerry Cronin, Paddy McAllister, Bryan Young, BJ Botha, Andi Kyriacou, Nigel Brady, Tim Barker, Ryan Caldwell, Dan Tuohy, Johann Muller, Willie Faloon, Robbie Diack, Pedrie Wannenburg, Chris Henry. Backs: Adam D’Arcy, David McIlwaine, Tommy Seymour, Simon Danielli, Craig Gilroy, Luke Marshall, Jamie Smith, Nevin Spence, Ian Whitten, Ian Humphreys, Niall O’Connor, Paul Marshall, Ian Porter
We’ll announce both sides tomorrow but the Ravens should be featuring Patrick Jackson at OH, with Iain Henderson and David McGuigan in the pack and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mr Gilroy dropping out of the senor squad for the game at Donnybrook. (We’ll be there for photos, weather permitting)
I must say but having seen our extended squad written down above it doesn’t look too bad at all.
No gauge of form over the last couple of weeks so I’m just going to go with my own favourites. Let’s see how it stacks up against the real thing tomorrow.
FRU XXIII: (15-9) Smith, McIlwaine, Whitten, L Marshall, Danielli, O’Connor, Porter. (1-8) McAllister, Kyriacou, Botha, Muller, Barker, Wannenburg, Faloon, Diack. (16-23) Brady, Cronin, Young, Tuohy, Henry, P Marshall, Humphreys, D’Arcy.
Either the youngsters in the back line could come good and it will be a comfortable win as our pack should out boss whatever Cardiff has left over for the game. Alternatively a few mares with the kiddies and it could all get a bit messy.
