Norman Surplus, Gyrox Goes GlobalI’m pleased to see that my friend Norman Surplus (pictured above at Stade Francais)  has resumed his Autogyro flight round the world after his recent trials and tribulations when he was forced to ditch his autogyro into a lake during take off.

Norman’s been a friend since school when we went mountaineering together in the Pyrenees but despite him living only a couple of hundred of yards away it was only really on Ulster away trips where we found the time to catch up.

I’m pleased to see from his blog that Norman has completed a successful first day back in the air after his prolonged break covering over 500 miles in his tiny aircraft and with fair wind and a bit of luck I hope he completes his epic journey without further mishap in time to join us at Biarritz or Aironi. I look froward to hearing all the tales of his daring do!

Safe flights from all your friends at The FRU.
