Instonians 12 Ulster 7.
Ulster U20′s lost their opening Inter-provincial warm up game against Instonians at Shaws Bridge last night by 12 points to 7.
Ulster went down to an early push over try from the Inst pack and things looked ominous for the youngsters with the home forwards dominating early exchanges.
Ulster managed to steady the ship and worked their way into the game but it degenerated into a typical pre-season run out with both squads fully rotated.
The U20s who are coached by Jonny Bell and Derek Suffern and managed by John McKibbin will have three further games against English representative side Midland Counties on Saturday (13th August, Shaws’ Bridge), against Ballynahinch (18th August, Ballymacarn Park) rounding off against the Irish Exiles in London (22nd August.)
