Texel King, Ulster's King of Texels
The FRU has heard that two of Ulster’s largest sporting? bodies are going to be at loggerheads in the near future over image rights for, Ulster supporter and champion Texel Sheep breeder, Texel King.
Mr King, pictured above left, changed his name by deed poll three years ago to help market his growing herd of prize Texel sheep but has also been picked out by Ulster Rugby photographers and their marketing department as the face of their campaign to sell season tickets.
However the FRU learned on Friday evening that Mr King has not given his permission for his photographic likeness to be used and has a legally binding documents that all photographs are to be accompanied by the wording “Texel King, Ulster’s King of Texels”!
It is understood that it is now too late for Ulster to include the required wording on their 10,000 season ticket application brochures and as such Mr King, backed by the Texel Society of Ulster, are suing Ulster Rugby for improper use of his image with a placed on his image a value of several hundred thousand pounds or 12 gallons of premium sheep dip, whichever is the largest.
It’s an unfortunate situation but the FRU has stepped in and offered Mr King six gallons of quite good sheep dip and has sent Ulster the picture below to use in future advertising.

Imagine – the bare faced cheek of it !!!!!!!! I cant believe that they offered to bribe Texel King with money whenever there was 12 gallons of sheep dip on the “table” !

Imagine – I can’t believe Texel King still calls himself a supporter! The last time I saw him near a match was in Brussels last season.
