Ireland Women at Aviva StadiumSaturday wasn’t just a big day out for some of Ulster’s youngsters, it was also a big day for the Ireland Women’s World Cup Squad who were presented to the crowd at the Aviva at half time of the O2 Challenge Match.

It was a welcome break for the girls who have been training hard for the upcoming Women’s World Cup and going through their preparations for their final warm up match against Wales on Sunday afternoon.

Ulster and Ireland player Lauren Day sent us through her latest blog and a few pictures on the big day and you can read her full account here.

We got word in last night that the Irish girls narrowly lost their final game against Wales in Bridgend by 15 – 13. Despite the defeat it was another good work out for the girls and they had a few opportunities to snatch a win.

Their next game will be against England on 20th August in the opening pool game of the Women’s World Cup. The match takes place in at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford which is about 30 minutes from Twickenham Stoop where Ulster play Harlequins the next day. I’m sure the girls would be delighted to see some Ulster support at their big match.
