This season’s Ulster Man of the Match and Ulster Player of the Year Polls are sponsored by Leaf Properties Lanzarote.

This week we’re going to concentrate on the vote for Player of the Year, sponsored by Leaf Properties Lanzarote.

Thanks to our sponsors this season’s winner will receive a weeks holiday at the fantastic four star Hotel Natura Palace in Yaiza in sun kissed Lanzarote, courtesy of Leaf Properties and The FRU.

The Monthly Winners throughout the season were:

Willie-Faloon

Willie “Ferret” Faloon
Winner:
September, October.
The young “Ferret” shot into an unassailable lead with outstanding early season form as he scooped up the first two months awards.
Mid-season injuries put the brakes on but he fought back in April and May to stay top of the pile.

Andrew-Trimble

Andrew “Baby Face” Trimble
Winner: January, May.
”Baby Face” shot into contention with his outstanding individual try against Bath in the Heineken Cup.
The clean cut hard hitter is proof that class is permanent, rising above the dross of the last few months with some outstanding individual displays.

Robbie-Diack

Robbie “Smooth Hands” Diack
Winner: April.
If I had a daughter I’d get her to marry “Smooth Hands” just so he’d stay and play for Ulster forever!
I’m so excited about next season as I think it is the year that the silkiest hand in rugby will finally come to the fore.
Xavier who?

Isaac-Boss

Isaac “Hugo, Boss Man, Who’s the Boss” Boss
Winner:
March
Despite being deemed surplus to requirements as early as last October, Hugo hit a rich vein of form mid season to remind us what we’re going to miss!
”Who’s the Boss” will be Ireland fan’s chant next season as “Boss Man” leads them to World Cup glory!

Paddy-Wallace

Paddy “Busted Face” Wallace
Winner: February
Another injury ravaged season for “Busted Face” who’s had more stitches than a Birmingham sweat shop.
Skills and smarts make him Ireland’s best line breaker, an injury free season would see him pushing for a World Cup start.

Justin-Fitzpatrick Justin “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick
Winner: December
Despite only appearing once this season the “Fitzy” legend was enhanced with his six minute destruction of Stade Francais at Ravenhill. 12 line breaks, 3 try scoring passes and two scrums against the head were all packed into, “the most complete display in modern rugby”.
