whiteleaf120 The Leaf Properties Lanzarote Player of the Month Award for December goes to the ever popular Justin Fitzpatrick.

Despite playing only 6 minutes of rugby for Ulster in their impressive home win against Stade Francais the Ulster legend swept to victory in the polls scooping a sensational 41 votes for his “match winning” performance.

Fitzy’s outstanding display sees him leap into sixth place in this seasons Top Ten of most voted for players with Paddy Wallace dropping out to make way.

Despite failing to register a vote in December Willie Faloon manages to hold on to his lead at the top of the table but “Captain Courageous” Chris Henry is now hot on his heels and with Ferris coming in third it shows what an impressive back row combination has developed this season.

With a total of almost 700 votes already registered this season it’s good to see that some are going to players in the “unglamorous” positions as front five stalwarts Botha and O’Donoghue continue to poll well.

Ireland returnee’s Trimble and Court also scored well in December, just bubbling under the Top Ten at 13th and 14th respectively, however it’s doubtful if anyone will score so highly on votes per minute this season as the affable Fitzpatrick. Unless of course you know differently!

    I thought it was 4 minutes (and was outstanding) The Ulster Public has spoken.. Brian “Get the Fitz back” we need some maturity and solid leadership……….. and also it will bring the average age up

    The number of minutes isn’t important, it’s the lifetime of experience that was on the field to close out the game!

    If he manages to get another 3 or four outings this season he could be winging his way to Lanzarote this summer courtesy of the sponsors!
