News has reached The FRU that local sports shops and pharmacies are selling out of swimming goggles and eye patches respectively as Ulster fans prepare for Saturdays Heineken Cup fixture against Stade Francais in Brussels.
It is believed that the Ulster fans are going to extra ordinary lengths to ensure that their eyes remain fully protected should any of last Saturday’s on field shenanigans’ spill over to the terraces.
Said one travelling supporter a Mr Raven,
“Being an ex Boy Scout I am used to travelling fully prepared and this is why I went out and bought some swimming goggles and some eye patches for Saturdays game.
The goggles should be particularly effective as we will be able to use the elastic band to fire them into the rucks should any of our players feel the need.
We are also carrying a sizable number of eye-patches as well should any of our players be caught of guard!”
We have been unable to confirm if Stade Francais marketing guru Max Guazzini will be supplying Stade branded goggles in pink!
