ulster120white Well my morning Twit review has brought some interesting news on Ulster’s proposed “South African second row” signing.

According to Afrikanns news source Nuus24 the 6’7” 112kg Natal Shark Johann Muller is a firm favourite to join Ulster next season.

It is believed that Ulster are currently in negotiations with the Sharks to release Muller from next season’s Currie Cup commitments which would make the 25 capped Springbok available from the end of May, once all S14 fixtures have been completed.

Muller has not yet signed a contract with Ulster, but there is little to prevent the Bokke lock from joining his old Sharks teammate BJ Botha in Belfast.

Muller is not in the Bokke coach de Villiers’s plans and was surprisingly not even in the squad for the world champions European adventure. Time is no longer on Muller’s side as he approaches 30 and it is understandable that in the last few years of his career he should look for a better pay day!

Muller was not available for comment yesterday, but it is believed that he will play for the Sharks in the Super 14 before moving and will continue to remain available for the Bokkes though it is unlikely that  De Villiers will look in his direction.

Muller’s last test was against the B&I Lions in Johannesburg.

Let’s hope it is Mark, though the source that said “Ulster are hot favourites to re-sign Bowe” couldn’t have been higher!
Mind you they didn’t say what year.

Get down on your knees and praise the lord that he didn’t sign for the Lady Boys or the Bog Men.

    Good luck Tommy.
