Thanks to our inside man at Ulster Rugby we sneaked into Newforge and handed out a couple of awards that have been hanging around for a while.
The first recipient was Stephen Ferris who won last seasons Front Row Player of the Year Award in the biggest online rugby poll in Ulster.
We’d hoped to present the award to Stephen at our annual awards night in May but his call up to the Lions scuppered that one. Undeterred we set of for South Africa in search of the big man but unfortunately his injury prevented us cornering him there. However after a bit of negotiation we eventually caught up with Ulster’s Lion at Newforge.
while Steve was obviously delighted with his award we think he was more pleased with his Lanzarote Rugby Club polo shirt which we also presented. He did state that pink was a good colour for him!
Speaking of Lanzarote, we also managed to catch up with the Leaf Properties Lanzarote Player of the Month for September, none other than rising Ulster star Willie Faloon.
Willie was particularly pleased to learn that this award sets him up as the front runner for Leaf Properties fabulous prize for this seasons Player of the Year as this seasons winner will receive a weeks holiday for two in the fantastic four star Hotel Natura Palace in Yaiza (Lanzarote), courtesy of Leaf Properties and The FRU.
Congratulations to Willie for his fantastic start to the season and good luck in future polls.
