UWM The UW Milwaukee Lady Panthers got their league programme back on track with an outstanding 0 – 74 win at Iowa State University. This was an emphatic reversal of their only previous meeting where Iowa State had defeated the Panthers 19 –17 in the 2008 Midwest Final Four Play-offs.

Having lost their previous two League outings the girls were determined to make a statement to justify their Top 10 National Ranking and they certainly caught everyone’s attention with this demolition of Iowa State.

The undoubted star of the show was Brittany Houston who bagged four tries and seven conversions in the 12 try romp.

Full back Mollie Martin weighed in with three tries closely followed by winger Sam Bruni and No. 8 Kati McCormick who scored two apiece with playmaker Lindsey Fickau adding one.

Mention must go to veteran player, and FRU favourite, Caila Ney who’s performance in the line outs was one of the chief sources of Panther turnover ball.

The Panthers have a bye this weekend and they are hosting the Midwest U19 and U17 Select try-outs. Their next game is their first home league fixture this season when they host University of Minnesota on Saturday 24th October. You can follow The Panthers fixtures in our Events Section.
