Ian Humphreys, Ulster Rugby
Rachel and Ian have been enjoying working together!

Thanks to our spy, Glynncommando, The FRU can exclusively reveal that part of the reason that Ian Humphreys has not been starting for Ulster is that he has been involved in a heavy schedule with the TV reality programme Strictly Come Dancing.

Ian, masquerading on the show as Vincent Simone, is said to be so enamoured with his petite partner, Rachel Stevens,  that he has been arriving at training exhausted and confused. When planned moves have been called he has broken into a quick Foxtrot or American Smooth and has completely bamboozled his team-mates.

On one occasion instead of receiving a pass from Cillian Willis it is reported that Ian ran towards Cillian and executed a perfect Samba, with startling hip movement, much to Cillian’s surprise.

Ulster Rugby are however starting to see some benefits from Ian’s extra curricular activities. No one will forget his perfect execution of the Paso Doble in the match against Munster where he completely outfoxed the Munster back row with his exciting cape action.

Such has been the improvement with Ian’s footwork that Ulster Coach Matt Williams is now thinking of employing a full time Dance Coach!

“At first I was afraid that it would be all too much of a distraction for Ian, dancing with a hot Sheila like Rachel, but I must admit that the boy has done good! Such has been his improvement that we’ve decided to get the rest of the team dancing now and it’s paying off big style.

You should see Fitzy once he gets going on a Rumba, he doesn’t sweat much for a big guy and at this rate I reckon we’ll get another two or three years out of him!”
